  4. I seem to recall he was in this because he claimed to believe both sides are an existential threat to America. Now dropping out and supporting Trump. This is and always was a massive grift intended to hurt the Democrats’ chances.

  8. A 3rd Party candidate polling about where he is stepping down is a massive sign that this dude is the lunatic grifter we all knew he was. That’s actually a somewhat respectable number for the “light my vote on fire” crowd to rally behind.

    Question is, will all the smug “both sides are evil, revolution is the only way” types be massive hypocrites and side with Trump because of the obvious contempt they have had for Kamala and the DNC all along, or stick to their guns and stay home.

He’s offering his support to the highest bidder, namely who will give him a cabinet position instead of to whose agenda and ideology more closely align with his own.     On a serious note seriously, this isn’t gonna move the needle at all for Trump. This feels like the Trump Campaign somehow has this flawed line of logic that **everyone (as in, all 100% of the people)** who was voting for RFK Jr will migrate to the Trump campaign.

I guess they’ve got brain worms too. They just can’t see that he was always a plant and his whole game was to be a spoiler candidate.

  33. Good riddance, political wannabe. Definitely recommend the New Yorker profile on RFJ Jr. I went from thinking of him as merely an egotistical conspiracy peddler, to someone much more nefarious and corrupted.

    His treatment of people close to him throughout his life, both friends and family, disqualifies him from being elected town dog catcher. He’s spent his life failing upwards, having every door opened, and red carpets rolled out. All the while, being completely self-absorbed, and believing he was destined to pick up where his father and uncle left off.

    That’s what this campaign was all about – trying to manifest some prophecy. He doesn’t appeal to more than 5% of the general population, if that. It was never going to carry him to the presidency, and along the way he picked up and ran with whatever crackpot topic he thought would win him favor or get an edge.

    He’s nothing like JFK or RFK, who inspired the country with optimistic visions for America. RFK Jr. is a phantom of American leaders; he’s a person who is haunted by ghosts, has a closet full of skeletons, and would have brought nothing but ghoulishness to the presidency.

    If RFKJ voters don’t show up as poll responses for Trump in the next 2-3 weeks, the polls are going to read very poorly for Trump and heavily demoralize their base.

  43. His running mate was on a podcast yesterday and referred to them as spoiler candidates, kept talking about about the campaign in past tense and throwing wild allegations towards Harris. It’s would have been hilarious if not real. It was pretty clearly the decision to drop out and back Trump was made then, this is just formality

  48. If you do a little digging, you’ll find that RFK Jr.’s biggest financial backer is Timothy Mellon. He gave RFK Jr. $25 million, but it turns out that Mellon also gave Trump $50 million. This is the smoking gun that proves RFK Jr’s entire candidacy was geared to suck votes from democrats. When it didn’t work, his backers pulled the plug. The fact that he just took his ball and went home means he was just bullshitting the entire time he was running.
