The high level of Massey Fergusons in Cavan is due to farmers still using old tractors on farms, I grew up in rural Cavan on a farm and almost every farm has an old Massey along with larger tractors usually, we have a 1975 135 that my dad still maintains and uses for light work and driving around the land, he learned to drive on it and my grandfather bought it new way back then
Bless this mapmaker for doing the Lord’s work.
Fuck John Deere and their anti-right to repair stance. We’re a New Holland and Case farm here in Wexford.
What tractors are blue. My great uncle used to have a blue tractor years ago. It must be a 1980s model.
*”If it ain’t a Deere, I’d rather fuck a steer”.*
I am really surprised that Limerick has the joint lowest number, seems wrong tbh
Maybe they’re all bought in a cork dealership or something?
John Deere is dominant in the arable areas of the country.
Most Irish farms are small-scale operations and many solely exist to make repayments on a big tractor just to keep up appearances. While Comparable Continental farms use much smaller machines such as orchard/vineyard tractors or yard skid steers (Kubota, holder, Weidemann, Thaler…),
No ursus
Remember lads if she’s red keep her in the shed and if she’s green keep her clean
My grandad still runs a Massey Ferguson 135 that he has had for probably had for at least 40 years now (he got it 2nd hand as well). Still runs great and he has some even older tractor that was before Massey Ferguson was formed since it only has the one name on it (don’t remember which) that he would’ve used for bog work.
Why is Ford in the key?
I demand to know who sorted that legend
So annoying that Northern Ireland isn’t included in the map – it would be much more interesting!
Big up the Valmet brigade!
“Massy is classy but Zetter is better.”
A farmer told me that.
Not a single Zetor in sight! I wonder how often these change.

The Massey is Classy
but the Zetor is Better
trying to think where the tractors in dublin would be?
a few farms, the airport, phoenix park, the zoo…
Edit: I appear to have offended our most oppresed minority, the elusive junkie culchies. I am very sorry, I”m sure ye have lovely farms
It’s an interesting there such a regional difference. Do different tractor manufacturers have a better reputation for different soil types?
If she’s not red, keep her in the shed
Farmin’ the land and droppin’ the hand. Yeow!
What’s with them David Brown fellas? Do they think they’re special??? Hmph… notions!
I’m pretty sure Ford was amalgamated into New Holland years ago. I don’t know why they’re listed on the map when they aren’t even in production.
“The fuck is this? “ – Everyone in Dublin.
What happened the deutz fahr
Oh man.
I always thought a New Holland was a Blue Holland.
Bye bye ford
Meath has to be wrong. Nothing but Deeres round my parts
Cavans Tractor / person ratio is crazy.
This information has given me a new lease on life. I didn’t know how imperative this was till now. Thank jaysus for this statistic. Very important.
Which county prefer Ford?
Ah, so the northerners are still using devil steeds and hellhounds.
Is this real? I have become very interested in tractor marques ever since my sine became old enough for a front facing child seat!
You left out a large chunk of Ireland
Didn’t John Deere try to implement some kind of DRM on their tractors?
What…no Lamborghinis?
Waterford bucking the trends here 😀
[New tractors sold this year ](https://i.imgur.com/Bdr4IF2.jpg) puts John Deere in the to spot
