NASA’s FIRMS fire monitoring systems shows multiple fires at Russia’s Marinovka Air Base in Volgograd Oblast after a successful Ukrainian drone attack earlier tonight.
Explosions, smoke and flames were seen rising from the airfield.

UAVs attacked the Marinovka air base in the Kalachevsky district, Volgograd region, in Russia. Russians claim that they shot down all drones, but NASA FIRMS maps indicate that the air base is burning. Coordinates: 48°38’15″N 43°46’49″E

Stressing russias already overstretched domestic services like firefighting is such a brilliant tactic. The Rostov oil fire has already shown that Russia has seemingly slashed a lot of the firefighting personnel and/or equipment assuming that they would likely not need it as Ukraine could never strike that deep inside Russia. This one won’t burn for days but it’ll be interesting to see if Russia can actually put it out quickly.
Moscow…getting closer…
Q: What is more beautiful than Red Square in Russia?
A: Four of them!
It must be quite cathartic for the Ukrainians to know that a fairly wide radius of Orcistan is no longer truly safe from destruction.
