Never rented a car before, but would trust ones like Europcar and Hertz to be good ones at least. I see Europcars pretty much daily, never heard from green motion so have no clue about that.
Yes polo and golf are both viable in winter, people usually use the same car year around and at least golf is quite popular car. Follow up question, is this your first time driving in snowy/icy conditions?
No idea on your last question, I would ask directly from the hotel what the price would be and check if it’s any cheaper than booking.com with discount.
