A while back i sent RTL real story of corruption going on in my family, i emailed them, called them and they said that they won’t publish it and didnt even reply to me. This story involved the real estate mafia in Luxembourg which exists on commune level and then months after they publish this crap where they will inspect how i use my cheque repas. TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT OF A MEDIA. No wonder i gained much more attention using Facebook groups for my matter. Media nowadays are factories for mass hysteria and panic. I’m totally disgusted by this. Not all of us like eat that fucking much to spend all vouchers on food. Why shouldn’t I use my “captured in this piece or paper” money the way i want to? The journalism in Luxembourg is disgrace!!!! I have been personally told that they only dig dirt on politicians and huge scandals. Nothing else useful.
I mean it’s their money in any way. So who am I to tell them what to do with it? Ah, they don’t use it the regular way? Hmm, what about “Kannergeld” then?
So restaurants want to push so that they are exclusively used in restaurants? But whenever you used them in the premises they whine about it and look down on you. Easier to buy groceries. Also, considering how expensive restaurants are in Lux, you’d be lucky if you can afford to go more than 3 times… then cheques repas wouldn’t be worth much as a « benefit »

Yeah,let’s just get rid of any kinds of tax advantages and extra income for the regular folks, all they do it abuse it and buy avocado toast and iPhones. Our tax subsidies are better spent given to real estate moguls to provide us all with some more housing at 20k euros/m2. Such noble work all these journalists earning what I would imagine to be at most 20 percent over qualified minimum wage are doing. /s

It’s not like this is anything new, everyone knew what was going on it’s just now that restaurants complain more about it because of covid and many people still being in home office.
I’m ok with it in case they make it more restrictive and you can only buy food with them, it’s clearly not meant to buy cigarettes or your new PlayStation in the supermarket. But if they enforce it so that you can only use them in restaurants for lunch, well then I don’t need them anymore because I don’t have any advantage anymore for myself.
I pay 50% of my vouchers, so I wanna have at least a 50% say in what I’m gonna do with them. Restaurant cost me 2-3x than what getting my food from the supermarket, I do 30 minute lunch breaks and going to a restaurant makes me lose a lot more time, especially since I barely have any close by.
I use my vouchers in the supermarket or in restaurants in the evening. Forcing me to use them only for lunch in restaurants will have the opposite effect, I’ll still buy my lunch in the supermarket but go less to restaurants in the evening.
What’s better for the future when it comes to the state pension? 40 years of having chèque repas as part of your salary or 40 years of an equivalent amount knowing you’ll have less cash netto each month? Are the chèque repas considered the same as a cash value when calculations are made? Don’t know a whole bunch about this so someone feel free to enlighten me 👍
