So i guess they didn’t like it?
Shouldn’t be much of a surprise when the film has been tossed around in development hell for a while.
I saw one review calling it “THE CROW for this generation!” and I thought that was a wonderful turn of phrase, in that it can be interpreted any way you prefer.
Totally unwatchable is better than I expected this to be.
*”There’s just no pull, no urge, no passion, just B-roll of two lifeless actors posing for a lower-tier perfume ad.”* Damn that’s a good one
Yes, as is expected.
The comic book was fun, but it was no Sandman, or even Grendel.
The first movie should have been a cult favorite like Dark City (from the same director) but due to the unfortunate death of it’s star became a bigger beast than it should have. All the sequels were lackluster. The tv show was ok.
It’s a simple story with simple characters and it’s been done. Trying to reinvent the wheel in this case will always lead in failure. It doesn’t matter if the film is visually spectacular, it’s just to basic of a story and character.
Watched it last night.
Walked out.
Awful movie.
As a Goth I’m kind of torn by that headline…
The Crow is Movie of This Year
Downvoted because nobody gets the joke/reference
Victims…
Aren’t we all…?
They’ll never be able to repeat that level of epic soundtrack either
all The Crow sequels and remakes can be called a murder of the original
Let’s be honest: The original movie wasn’t all that great either.
It’s crazy, The Crow literally has so many possibilities on story. There’s so much freedom to play with and they make this. Such a waste of a actor too
Shock, how could this be!
Why do they make movies no one is asking for, then get confused when they bomb. Lee’s death was an iconic moment in film history…and I have never heard someone say, gee, I wish they remade that film.
Stop making movies no one is asking for or wants.
What do you call one Crow? Awesome.
What do you call two Crows? A murder.
The fact that they rewrote the backstory of the Dravens to be drug addicts instead of protesting their eviction shows just how wildly out of touch this remake was. It was a bit of a stretch as a plot point in 1994 but it almost feels prescient now and certainly would have resonated with a lot of people.
Nah, make them drug addicts and make the villain have supernatural reasons for his villainy instead of just being a power-hungry douche.
Very sad because I think the movie landscape is overall hungry for a vaguely supernatural, dark, mature action movie/franchise, and instead we get this steaming pile…
Genuinely never once given a fuck about a review. Doesn’t matter who it is. At the end of the day I’m still going to see it for myself. They’re probably old as fuck anyway these people who reviewed the movie. Go watch it FOR YOURSELVES, everyone!!!!!!!
r/moviecritic will probably love it and circlejerk about it for years to come.
Hopefully they left the line: kaw kaw kaw kaw bang fuck I’m dead.
Really the only thing I remember from the original because it made me giggle.
What did anyone expect? It brought goth to the lime light long enough to spawn mall goths even before Marilyn Manson
What a tribute to Lee
Read the original comic is the best version
Man this is disappointing. The action looks pretty dope.
I was going into it looking for an action/gore schlockfest though. Plus I quite like Bill Skarsgard.
What exactly were people’s expectations?
Some movies just don’t need a remake
