I recently watched this video.. no need to watch it to understand my question:
In it a cantonal politician from Geneva said that only Geneva and maybe Nuechatel (she wasn’t sure) have power to pass their own laws. This left me wondering if the other cantons can’t make their own rules, what can they do? Is it literally just deciding on taxes and how to spend them?

We have 3 levels for laws: municipality, canton, Federation
Each canton, and municipality, can make up their own laws but within a set of rules made by the Federation (usually that means you can be stricter but not laxer)
