>Unilever, the firm behind brands such as Marmite and Dove Soap, has indicated it will put up its prices again this year as its overheads continue to rise.
These price hikes really are starting to irk me
Shhhh it’s got absolutely nothing to do with the bank of England’s asset purchase programme.
The billions of pounds created in 2020 and now entering the wider have absolutely nothing to do with the decreasing purchasing power of the currency.
I love how they used marmite as the illustration. People read it and think well I don’t even like marmite or dove soap. Not realising that Unilever is one of a handful of companies that controls every single thing we buy in our supermarkets.
Bovril is a cheaper alternative. Tastes the same I reckon just not as harsh.
Marmite maker Unilever to raise prices as ~~costs soar~~ rich people seek to get more yacht money.
A reminder that even in the middle of a pandemic, Unilever had over 8 billion in _profits_.
Ha! A jar of marmite lasts me months and months. I’m barely going to notice. Carry on, nothing to see.
