The bloke paid for his stables to be heated with taxpayers money. Pot kettle black
> Brendan Clarke-Smith, Conservative MP for Bassetlaw
This is the same twonk that opposes food banks and footballers taking the knee.
Good forbid that our future generations learn about politics and form opinions. What a disaster that would be!
“Year 6 pupils watched a BBC Newsround episode about Downing Street and were asked to write to their MP to share their views, in a lesson linked to the English curriculum.”
I‘m guessing these ’critics’ don’t like young people forming opinions and writing about them. An uneducated and inarticulate electorate is far easier to manipulate.
Since its only this week that allegedly ‘grown ups’ are now running Downing St. It’s a bit rich criticising a school for educating children in moral, ethical issues and an ability to write something other than meaningless soundbites and three word slogans.
Or to put in terms they might grasp:
GET TO FUCK
Just look at the way the BBC wrote this news article.
It isn’t saying “X did Y”; instead, it straight away tells you the schoolchildren did something seen as wrong.
An awful lot of their output is delivered with the rebuttal or counter-claim delivered first. Once you see this it’s hard to unsee.
Typical the right wing complains about cancel culture and here we are with the government criticising a school all because their pupils didn’t all state “Tory is GOOD” and actually had their own view
> The education secretary says schools must not tackle political issues in a “partisan” way after pupils were asked to write a letter criticising the prime minister during a lesson.
> Pupils from Welbeck Primary School, in Nottingham, said Boris Johnson was a hypocrite and called for him to resign.
Good on the Head teacher for supporting the kids
> Its head teacher said children were “encouraged to express their thoughts”.
We really are heading into 1984 territory when any criticism of the “party” gets an immediate backlash from leading front bench MP’s
Going to have the thought police out very fucking soon to make sure no school dares teach or say anything critical of the Party and everything must have daily “praise the Tories” hymns sung
FFS does this twat not have better things to do that slag off school kids for having their own mind, I guess it shows that they really want kids to be brought up with no independent thinking and to only be taught Tory approved subjects
> Mr Zahawi said: “While there is a clear need for schools to address political issues in the classroom from time to time, this must not be done in a partisan way.
In other words “a partisan way” now means in Tory speak…. Anything that doesn’t praise the Tory Party
Just to be clear, the education secretary says “No school should be encouraging young people to pin their colours to a political mast.”
So schools should *not* encourage children to look at the facts, use their critical thinking and make up their own minds?
Get ready, Godwin!
Crime Minister shouldn’t be so weak & slammable then
These politicians are so divorced from reality, even the kids are showing them up.
Johnson’s behaviour should anger everyone, regardless of political beliefs. He has taken everyone as mugs, even hardcore Tory voters, he has also allowed corruption to run rampant through Westminster. He has made a mockery of democracy and everyone should be asking for his head.
I think it’s unfair that these kids wrote their opinion before the police investigation had finished. It’s clear that they were prejudging a police ~~coverup~~ investigation
Fuck off Nadhim.
If these children have learnt partisanship from this exercise, that is the consequences of actions.
I hate that this is being described as partisan. It categorically is not. The PMs own aides have quit over this. The PMs staff have been sacked over this. His own MPs are calling for him to resign. It can not be partisan if there are not an insignificant number of people on both sides saying the same thing.
Why is every Tory who is close to Boris a shitty liar? Actually I’ll put it more charitably. Why does every Tory who is close Boris actively use misleading/incorrect language to politically charge statements to promote partisanship where it doesn’t need to exist?
And another thing. If a group of 10/11 year olds can watch a newsround episode and come to the conclusion that he is a liar, they should be able to express that opinion. Kids may not be that knowledgeable at that age but they sure as hell can look at some evidence and determine if someone is a liar or not.
Smells like a dictatorship in the works. Can only write good things about dear leader now?
“Education secretary says school children should not engage in politics or have opinions about the behaviour of their politicians in case they are held to account”
I’m a teacher and after reading this I will double my efforts to make sure students are informed about what jokers this lot are.
Today I learned that being unhappy with the Prime Minister for lying, and for breaking the guidance he asked everyone to follow, is “partisan”.
God forbid that kids learn to think critically, for themselves, in schools.
Ok, seems fair… Now i see more.
If they did not lead them or direct their opinions.
They used current events to help teach them.
Given how often the Tories talk about “free speech”, you’d think that they would be in favour of letting students form opinions and express themselves.
Somehow, they don’t seem as keen to jump on this as they are when it comes to defending bigotry…
As a school kid I’ll add something on. The conservatives, at least to the 4 schools I’ve been to, are a complete joke to everyone, and Boris is just one big meme. When we all grow up, I think conservatives will be a dying party.
(Although chances are I’m in a bubble and many do not share this opinion)

So the teacher didn’t tell them _what_ to write? So what’s the issue?
When a child concludes something is fucked up, it’s probably fucked up.
Kids have a strong sense of right and wrong. It’s not partisan to point out wrongdoing. It’s partisan to say so.
must beat that critical thinking out of them by year 8
“You, at the back, Jeffries, is it? Who said you could think for yourself? Detention!”
How can you expect an institution that is fundamentally “left” in nature, that has been hobbled by the Tories for most of the last 40 years and which they have massively fucked in the past 2, to not be partisan?
To know who is in charge, you only have to find out who you cannot criticise. Zadawi is a corrupt liar.
People need to be educated about Boris. He’s not your friend. Best place to start is in schools. School shouldn’t be slammed for the truth.
So sorry kids are speaking badly about the communist Conservative party. Shall we shut the truth whiners up? They’re not allowed an opinion on politicians. That’s “crossing the line”
The man who stopped them having fun for much of 2020 and 2021 isn’t going to be particularly popular with kids!
Especially when they learn he was having parties all that time
