As a foreigner I make sure to leave a good impression. Especially if you’re an asylum seeker you should be thankful for what you get.
It’s simple if someone welcomes you in their house and they spit you in the face you throw them out
That’s just normal behaviour in any country. You expect more from people that decide to come to your home. If you are not willing to follow the law in a foreign place than you might as well go home.

SVP feeds off the foreign criminals, they actually thrive on it, it supplies its base with the portion of people who hate foreigners (hate everything)no matter what, these are the people who like to hate and SVP is giving them a platform to vent that.
why would you make half the meme in one language and half in another
I was in only my like, 3rd month living in switzerland, sat on the plane next to this old dude who is complaining that Angela Merkel is responsible for making Switzerland become too much like Portugal. I asked what was wrong with portugal and he said “too many black people. Merkel is bringing too many foreigners”.
I said, yano… I’m a foreigner so, don’t expect agreement from me and he said to my face…. “But you look like the right type of foreigner”.
A swiss couple in front did apologise for me but I don’t think I was the person who needed talking to in that situation lol.
It is like that to be honest.
I’m a foreigner myself, I’m Portuguese. What is kinda interesting is that there seems to be a distinction between foreigners here. Not all are the same. Some swiss are okay with Portuguese, Spanish, Italian but the HATE German people, and people from the Balkans. It’s a very kind of selective racism.
If people like that really exist, they are a very small minority. Like, the first part is very exaggerated and the second part simply doesn’t happen.

I was born here, raised here, was the class best in german and served in the military. I still have people to this day tell me I dont fit in this country due to the swiss culture or whatever else. Most interactions I have with swiss people either ends immediately after they tell me to not cause any issues after finding out what my nationality is due to my name or them telling me I‘m the nicest person they have ever met from my nationality. The second kind of people usually mean it in a nice way but its still crazy to me that they live in a world where they just dont interact with other people for them to be surprised how foreigners actually are. Its just lack of experience. My best friends parents told their son to stop hanging out with me because I‘m foreign and I‘ll probably force their son to become a criminal. I was fcking 9 back then. People change their opinions over time with experience and those exact parents love calling me for dinner atleast once a week.
Its those kind of stories that give me hope for people who refuse to make their own experiences with humans that are different to them. I try being nice to everybody but if your first sentence to me is I should go away because I could cause trouble then I‘m not gonna sit around and act nice to you.
Be swiss and stay neutral towards everybody no matter where they are from. Let the person decide with their behavior what your opinion towards them is going to be.

One of the first people I met after my arrival in Switzerland fits this to a T. Any crime he heard about ‘must’ have been committed by a foreigner…and they were most assuredly black. When I pointed out there was a black foreigner playing for a Swiss National Football team that person was okay. Never did understand his reasoning.
