Fortunately in Spain we still prefer to use our own languages over English
Good billboard. I’m Slovenian and we probably encounter these situations much more frequently than Croats. Tourists go to the mountains without any proper gear, many times in shoes suitable for beach…, then they get stranded and our rescue services are dispatched (police or army choppers). There is an ongoing debate about should we invoice these services. I read that it happened roughly 10 times in single week.
Mountains are like Wu tang clan – nothing to fu*ck with…
Croatian mountains are underrated.
But a good place, wait not good, great place to get away from tourists.
I had to use the mountain rescue this summer (in Spain, badly sprained my ankle 10km hike from the nearest village) and it was mortifying, even though it was a freak accident and I was well prepared. Couldn’t imagine the embarrassment if I’d tried the trek in flip flops or without water but when I was in Croatia I saw tourists in all sorts of states hiking.
They should put the same billboard in the Dolomites
