  3. Valverde. Not because he’s overhyped, but because he just performs.

  7. Imo even Arda. For the little bit of time he had on the pitch he always delivered considerinh the enormous hype.

  8. CR7 is a wrong answer here. His performance was far ahead from the hype.

  10. Maybe controversial but bale for me. That summer was full hype and he was amazing as a regular starter.

    Cristiano, big Hype, big Performance.

    Ruud van Nistelrooy, performance was pretty solid, just as you could expect at his age back then.

    Players with performance NOT matching their hype:

    Kroos overperformed imo.
    Ramos overperformed, noone could have expected his career. He came as a talented full back.
    Bellingham is overperforming. Noone at Dortmund expected his performances in Madrid.
    Bale slightly underperformed because of his injuries, still one of my favorites of all times though.
    Figo slightly underperformed imo.
    Cassano had little hype, but didn’t even reach that.
    Robben didn’t have much hype, slightly overperformed imo, but played in a pretty bad team before he went to Bayern where he handled his injuries much better.
    Robinho was supposed to be the next Pele. Didn’t even come close, although he had some good seasons.

    Honorable mentions:
    Walter Samuel was supposed to become the new Hierro. Didn’t happen.
    Jonathan Woodgate was supposed to be a stabilizer for a real shitty defense, his first game was kind of a bummer, went downhill from there 😅

  17. CR7, Bale, and Jude

    I didn’t put Zidane because he didn’t really achieve the amount of trophies that were expected. 1 la liga and 1 UCL trophy during his time as a player for us. 

  18. Bellingham, of course, as well as Ronaldo, and I’d also say Zidane. He seemed to shine the most from the Galacticos team.

  24. – Cristiano Ronaldo (nothing needs to be said, he’s top 2 all-time for Real Madrid)

    – Zinedine Zidane (delivered the 9th as a player and then did a 3peat as a coach)

    – Sergio Ramos (prodigious defender, heir to Paolo Maldini)

    I think Bellingham will most likely be another one, he helped us win crucial games when Vini was injured and also won titles in his first season here.
