  4. God damn, and on heavy charges too… Telegram will be in big business trouble in EU it seems.  

     Obvioulsy in a lot of countries (Ukraine and Russia most noticeably) Telegram is THE news source for people on all sides of conflict. 

    For example, military correspondents mostly operate through it, both pro-Ukrainian and pro-Russian.

    Wonder how that would play out now.  

     And of course, cryprobros and “hamster tappers” are in shambles rn too

  5. Huh, weird. I had a debate with a guy on here recently who was trying to argue that Telegram wasn’t a Russian source or biased towards Russians. Guess we know where they stand now, at least in the eyes of the European authorities.

  12. Another hit on free speech from the EU. First they tried to ban open source, then tried to install backdoor to apps like WhatsApp and now this. I’m so glad I left that shithole years ago.

  15. Super weird move. Detaining the CEO of a company for things done by the company without even suing the said company first, or like, banning it?

    Either the case is a slam dunk and they have rock-solid proof of terrible stuff, or he walks by Monday. Billionaires generally don’t spend 20 years in jail.

  25. For kids who don’t understand – Durov was on his back flight from Azerbaijan, where he met with Putin. Western lobby has a lot to discuss with him after that.
