I’d guess India and Mexico stay neutral. Serbia probably in the Russian camp.
Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan could also be possible allies of russia.
Frankly I think North Korea would sit this one out. Their leadership knows their bread and butter is from brinksmanship and not actually going to war.
Belarus is not a “possible” ally of Russia. It’s 100% an ally of Russia.
Not in a million years Austria would openly support NATO.
It’s bullshit. NATO article 10:
>Article 10
>The Parties may, by unanimous agreement, invite any other European State in a position to further the principles of this Treaty and to contribute to the security of the North Atlantic area to accede to this Treaty. Any State so invited may become a Party to the Treaty by depositing its instrument of accession with the Government of the United States of America. The Government of the United States of America will inform each of the Parties of the deposit of each such instrument of accession.
>NATO’s door remains open to any European country in a position to undertake the commitments and obligations of membership, and contribute to security in the Euro-Atlantic area. Since 1949, NATO’s membership has increased from 12 to 30 countries through eight rounds of enlargement. Currently, three partner countries have declared their aspirations to NATO membership: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Ukraine.
It depends on what context – India could be an ally of the US against China for instance, but I would say it’s very unlikely that India would join the US against Russia, given the friendly relations between them (India & Russia). I would probably say same about South Korea as well.
If this is for a war, I doubt that China will back up Russia and a country between Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan. Sorry I couldn’t reed it.
Edit: Isn’t Kosovo in NATO?
Not very. I honestly don’t think Russia has any real allies outside of Belarus at least when it comes to defense.
Also US Ally is not the same as NATO Ally. Many of the countries painted as potentially NATO allies are really just allied with US to counter Chinese influence and have have no interest in getting involved in European issues.
Israel isn’t going to be doing anything but getting their citizens out followed by rush processing the Aliyah applications of as many eligible people as they can.
I think Serbia would be possible russia’s ally
I’m surprised no one has noticed Colombia and Thailand yet, or Singapore and Australia for that matter
Pretty sure China cares only about Russias natural ressources. If there was to be an all oit war, they would probably just occupy all of russia to the east ot the Ural
Malta people are striped blue, government striped red. I mean they already sold our energy assets to Russian allies.
Cuba and Venzula, Nicaragua, Syria and Myanmar adn Serbia are definite allies of Russia. Vietnam I would say is also closer to Russia. Iraq and Saudi Arabia are not neutral and closer to NATO the same with Pakistan (At least US). I would say India is closer to being Neutral than anything else. Also you forgot Taiwan being close to NATO
Filipines and Indonesia are pro-NATO. (because of China)
Germany should be marked as Possible ally of Russia
Ok why isn’t Puerto Rico blue?
Ww3 vibes
Very inaccurate. If a conflict occurs, the sides will likely be similar to voting stances in the UN on this issue.
Mexico, India, Columbia, Thailand and South Korea all abstained on the issue. So most if not all of them will likely stay neutral in the future. Azerbaijan didn’t register a vote and will likely also stay neutral as not to poke the bear given the recent conflict. Afghanistan will also likely abstain as the Taliban seek international legitimacy and to keep their head down.
For Russia aligned: Cuba, Syria, Myanmar, Laos, Serbia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cambodia and Nicaragua are missing.
For NATO aligned: Singapore, New Zealand, Switzerland, Liberia + a number of Central American countries and small island nations. Switzerland is technically neutral but on this issue is likely to side against Russia as evidenced by previous voting.
People should understand that being allied or supporting a side doesn’t mean sending military aid. China for instance will likely do nothing except continue trading with Russia. This is more about broadly who supports who diplomatically.
If this is NATO VS Russia Mexico South Korea, Israel, and India woukd do nothing.
Serbia is weird because they hate NATO and love Russia but also wanna be in the EU so
The problem is….China
I am not sure China would side with Russia. Nato countries are their main trading partners, even though they don’t get along well with the West, the affect on their economy would be devestating.
This is probably a good map for ww3, but not so much Ukraine.
Honestly if ww3 break out along these lines, India will have a brutal three front war. They’d prob be the first power to use their nukes.
Not the worst one honestly if we consider that is pure speculation nobody knows how this will play out if you are going to add Colombia and Mexico as posible us allies might as well ad Venezuela, cuba and Nicaragua as Russian (edit) Moldova and Azerbaijan would probably be neutral
Turkey is de facto not part of NATO anymore. It gets excluded from exercises, has US arms ambargo, Austria and Canada joined the ambargo. NATO countries actively assisted enemies of Turkey (YPG/Libya/Armenia), and when Russian Jet was shot everyone was talking about how they should NOT defend Turkey, rather kick it out of NATO.
Turks don’t trust nato anymore, i think they’d stay neutral as long as possible.
India and Russia share 70 years of friendship and trust, I don’t think it will ever become a NATO ally. India will support the US against China, but won’t support an alliance that gives nothing in return. That’s why the US made dialog partners like QUAD and AUKUS. No everyone on this planet distrusts Russia like Europeans and Americans.
