  1. Only the fourth ever person verified to reach 118. And she’s not even the oldest person in the world, Kane Tanaka is 119, meaning for the first time ever we have two people over the age of 118 alive at the same time!

  2. I can only guess what she thinks about the same problems occuring with people not wearing masks when both pandemics hit, being 100 years apart for those crisis.

  3. This sister has seen some shit.

The changes to the world she has seen, must have been mind blowing.

  4. Not just two global health crises but also two world wars and two economic depressions.

  5. Crazy to think that the entire population of Europe is now completely different than it was when she was born.

  6. Interesting fact : Due to the nature of early twentieth century french politics, this lady has lived under 151 goverment cabinet.

  7. People born in 1904: Cary Grant, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Dr. Seuss, Salvador Dali, Deng Xiaoping, Pablo Neruda, Umberto II (last king of Italy), Jean Gabin.

  8. I would relish the chance to talk to this woman (assuming she has coherent faculties which wouldn’t make it a burden for her, and that I spoke French or had a translator). There is so much history she lived through, the world was a different place two times over from the time she was born. It’s so incredible to think about.

(Yeah, I like old people. At least the ones who don’t use their age to get away with being assholes)

  9. That’s nothing short of amazing. I wonder if for my generation (I’m 30), living to a 100 will become the new normal.
