“The option for unpaid leave is available for all Coop employees.”.
Fair enough, but it isn’t as easy when you are on ~£10.00 an hour, and not £1.4 million a year.
The cost of buying anything In coop now is insane, anything branded is the same price as my local premier or family run corner shop.
What’s the point? Oh shameless greed… and you have replaced all the staff with self checkouts.
Surely multi millionaire Jo Whitfield could pay for her sons to get professional tuition? No doubt they are already at an expensive public school and getting one of the best educations in the country? Why do they need their mum to help them?
Its pretty disgusting that a so-called cooperative thinks it needs to pay an executive £1.4m a year, while most of its staff languish at close to minimum wage
The amount of piss taking that would go on at my school if this came out at the time that mummy was helping me…
In other words: her kids require their mummy to pass their a levels and gcses.
How shit are her kids to need their mum for 4 months due to exam stress. I really hope uni admission people will take this extra help into account and will adjust their results down. Is she gonna be there with them at uni as well?
She’s done an amazing job turning co-op around. Some complain about her salary, that’s the price you pay for talent on the open market. Sure, we could let “Dave” from the warehouse run it because he’s good at Excel, but how long before he ruins it and there are large scale lay-off’s.
You have to wonder how thick her kids are that their mum has to take *four months* off her job to drag them through their exams. And you have to wonder how important she is that she can take four months off work as CEO and no-one will notice.
