Finland signs deal to buy 64 F-35 fighter jets

  1. The good thing about stealth fighters is you don’t have to buy them, you can just say you bought them. Nobody needs to see them flying.

  2. That are serious numbers. Especially against a country that doesn’t have any serious comparable 5th gen themselves.

  3. I wonder why they didn’t chose Rafale: they’re cheaper and are made by allies in Europe. In addition, the F35 has issues in cold weather. There is also one major advantage rafale has over f35 for Finland: the rafale can do air-to-air refueling, while the f35 can’t. It’s something to consider when you are a country without air tanker as it can drastically reduce your capabilities.

  4. I remember the Netherlands bought one jet one time and then they broke it during the presentation by spraying water over it or something
