Over the course of my life I’ve only lived in two places (I’m in the PNW), but both places have been within walking distance of viewing a glacier. Both will probably be gone not only within my lifetime, but quite possibly within the next twenty years at the rate that they’re melting. I’m expecting it to feel like a piece of me is missing when the one I see from my hometown is gone…
Whenever I go see glaciers in the alps, they’re all shrinking. It’s so sad.. Instead of marveling at their beauty I’m sitting there crying.
