Can confirm that it has been an extraordinarily warm winter. Our sole heating source is a wood burner, and I usually light it every night until mid September, I’ve never previously had a run of four days without it going in August.
In Paraguay, we swing from August high temperature records to low records like a pogo stick. When you think winter is over, it returns for more days than usual. I suspect a broken jetstream over Antarctica.
Look at how crazy is the weather in São Paulo this winter, we go from a 12 degree one day straight to 33 degrees the other. Those heat waves are happening constantly now.
