  1. What do we really know? It’s a secure messenger that protects a person’s basic right to privacy. That’s why he was arrested.

That’s why he was forced to leave Russia, because he refused to cooperate with local FSB and disclose personal data of oppositionists. Well, France is doing about the same thing.

And every time this kind of crap is presented as “the fight against terrorism.”

  2. Another example of how we are losing our right to privacy in the name of some sort of safety. What happens when we have no way of organizing a protest or voice dissent without the state being immediately aware of who and where you are? Is that what peak democracy looks like?

  3. Me when the CEO of a large social media platform that harbors terorrists, criminals and war criminals which refuses to cooperste with european authorities gets arrested because apparantly actions have consequences 😱😱😱

  4. The amount of people thinking that Telegram is a secure, private messenger is waaaay too high all around the globe..

  5. We know that he isn’t playing ball and our “democracies” don’t like that.

  6. Fled Russia because FSB tried to force him to spy on users. Arrested in France for the same.

  7. In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, he admitted that the US government convinced an engineer of his to secretly work for them to install a backdoor program into the coding for monitoring and censorship of the people for control.

  8. Are some redditors actually happy about this? hahaha

  9. The amount of drug trafficking that happens on Telegram is insane.

  10. We know that the Kremlin has access to “secure” Telegram data, based on how nuclear their campaign is right now.

I would even go so far as to speculate, that Durov, as it is rumored, is indeed an important high-ranking agent of the Kremlin.

  11. The russian spies/war criminals/propagandists/cells are collectively shitting their pants right about now.

  12. he was in Baku same day Putin was here. thre was rumour he wanted to meet with him but was denied. after this he flew straight to Paris to get arrested.

    interesting.

  13. This guy interviewed with Carl Tuckerson saying the US gov tried making a back door for the app. Birds of a feather project together.

  14. The Russians bots are out in the comment to turn a central hub for terrorist plots, child pornography and drug traffic into a fight for freedom 🤡

  15. Got to love how the majority of Twitter users immediately started posting the most anti-France and pro Russian narrative of this incident

Thanks to Edward Snowden. The prevailing narrative is that France is an anti free speech hell scape that silenced opposition.
