Yesterday, we visited all 11 KFCs in Switzerland in 1 day with mostly public transport, AMA!

  1. – We (me and a friend) started Saturday at midnight in Chur and ended **23h, 55mins** later in Lausanne. We used public transport for ~95% of the distance and we ate something at every single of the 11 KFCs (though only about half the time it was chicken).
    – We also (by chance) visited the only drive through by car 😀
    – We spent ~80 CHF on food in total.
    – If you wanna check out our route or look at a couple of pictures, check https://arcg.is/11Wnbj0

    – To our knowledge, it’s not possible to do it quicker without significantly longer car sections. If anyone has suggestions for optimizations feel free to comment (though we probably wont ever repeat this…)

  2. Did you rate the KFCs and could share your thoughts which was the best and which to avoid?

  3. What would you say has changed pre-covid and now, in terms of the quality of the food? I used to eat at the KFC in the airport before or after a trip. On a recent visit in January after coming back from the States, I found the chicken burger less flavorful. I don’t know if there was really a change or I just got used to the stuff you get back in the US.

  4. Do they have this already in Switzerland?

*”Chicken is much better in terms of carbon footprint than beef. But eating something other than meat is better still. The peas it’s made of are actually one of the most carbon-friendly, protein-rich foods. And from an animal cruelty standpoint, not eating a chicken is pretty much always better.”*

  5. I had a wrap at the one in Zürich airport about a month ago before departing for the US. I thought it was pretty good. I then went to KFC in the US and tried to order the same thing. I was then looked at like I was crazy and was told they haven’t had those in about 10 years. Oops 😬. I might have to go back the the airport and get one again sometime though.

  6. First questiom would be why ? But the answer would be why not. To be honest I didn’t even know KFC had invaded our country. 🙂

  7. Do you have a map of the route you traveled?

And did you buy something at every KFC?

Edit: I should read the comments first.

  8. I know the chicken is good, bit did you visit each one and ate in each one? That’s a lot of money and hunger you guys had

  9. This OP **SHILLS**. Check out their posts.

And, why KFC? They are advertising that all KFCs can be reached by public transportation.

  10. What was the reasoning to start in Chur? Wouldn’t starting in Mendrisio then Chur then Zurich make it so that you only have to pass the gotthard once and maybe make the trip a little shorter?

  11. It was the touchdown bucket weekend. 50 hot wings for 50chf ! Did you buy one ? I doubt since you o my spent 80chf. If not are you sad you missed out the best deal of the year ?

  12. Switzerland is a new market for KFC.

We don’t really eat there anymore in the States (the service is lousy, and you can get better chicken elsewhere), but it’s always fascinating to see how wonderful KFC is overseas. The Japanese LOVE it, and their KFC restaurants are clean and produce tasty meals. And given the Swiss preference for efficiency and tidiness, I’m sure all KFCs in Schweiz are flawless.

  13. Did the price differ greatly between cities? I remember paying significantly less in Bern than in Zürich for the same menu.
