Most dating apps in Switzerland seem to either be a scam or only have a very small amount of people active – at least in my area (male, Bern). Is it just me or am I looking at the wrong apps?

No this was my experience too, around Bern.
Tinder and Bumble have the most real users but also the most fake ones.
I’ve found Boo to be the most fruitful, but it is starting to fill up with those obviously fake, doll-like Chinese scammers with names like “Clyde”. At least they’re easy to spot.
I like Hinge. It has quite a few profiles and you cannot just swipe. But there is also Noii.ch with in person events for singles. There is one on Friday in Bern. Maybe something for you?
Found my partner 4 years ago on OkCupid. No idea if things changed, but I quite liked the idea back then, and we used its free tier. Never liked tinder and its clones.
