yell them too fk off 🙄
I say we keep the bosses and get rid of cell phones & the internet altogether
Hallelujah!
meaningless, UK has no justice, workers have no rights. If you don't like it you're fired. UK = forced labor camp
Well, Labour will make everyone unemployed so they have to claim benefits.
Then everyone will be at home in their personal gulag, being controlled and manipulated by the state just as the left want.
Totalitarianism is just as much a part of Labour’s DNA as antisemitism
I got fed up with one of my ex employers when they kept calling me on days off and on booked holidays, wanting me to go into work to cover other people's holidays and cover sick days for other people. Eventually I just stopped answering my phone when I knew it was work calling. They always called with the usual, "Can you do us a favour? We need you to come in because we are short staffed." There was one time I had to lie as to where I was "on holiday" and make out the reception was bad so that they would leave me alone. If they had known I was at home the whole time they would have bugged me every day of my booked holiday. Previously I worked on one of my booked holiday days and didn't get that day back so refused to be duped like that again.
Bosses will ignore this. If you don't answer the phone bosses can make it very difficult for you when they see you. Bullying will be riff.
As a boss, I do sometimes message out of hours, but never ever expect a reply and often chastise for a reply. But I know that if I don't send a message, I might forget to address it in the morning. Also where would group chats stand on this?
Who wouldn't just ignore the boss anyway?
Im in uk and trapped in bad situation, can anyone help me , sorry randomly putting this here im scared to say truth on my social media, it involves current issues and medical treatment so slso scared i could be arrested if i speak out , i highly doubt c4 will read this or reach out,
Im like at the end the line i cwnt see any way out 😢
As long as it’s ‘Legally allowed to ignore’ not illegal for them to do it. If the boss is that way inclined Employees will just find themselves managed out.
I already thought it was legal to ignore work texts and calls when not in work? I never answer lol.
I naturally ignored any text messages when I was out of working hours. Hence, I don't share my WhatsApp for work purposes.
They need to do a lot more than this if they want to sort out worker rights in the UK. If they were to implement this with the current setup, it would only protect people who have already worked there for at least 2 years. That’s right, if you’ve not worked somewhere for two years, you’ve no rights at all.
When will government stop culture of exploitation of workers decades long low wages and profiteering culture by exploitation
So there I was, soaking up the sun on my holiday back home in the USA, when I get this email from someone across the pond in the UK. They demanded—yes, demanded—that I finish something by 5 PM their time. Now, let me break it down for you: that's 11 AM for them, but it’s still dark and early in the US. They actually expected me to roll out of bed in the middle of the night, jet-lagged and all, to fix their mess because they couldn’t read a purchase order properly. The best part? The “top-secret” info they couldn’t figure out was literally just the name of the company that delivered the goods. The audacity. I mean, I'm flattered you think I’m a miracle worker, but even I need my beauty sleep!
What’s the stupid uk government going to do about customers? Customers texting bosses when they are on holiday ? Any ideas for that 2 tier ?
If they demand communication during time off they must pay for this service
Block their numbers. No boss has any right to contact employees outside working hours, no matter what. If there is a problem, it's pretty much a case of not my circus, not my monkeys. Screw them
You can legally ignore them now. More garbage.
“Hiya, is there any change you could come in at 8am. It would be appreciated” (sent at 7.30am)
Busy work for Politicians that pretend to care.
If someone is constantly texting you while on holiday and you don’t like it – leave!
You don’t need a politician to give you the courage through legislation. You’re not a child.
Yet more left wing legislation that is badly thought through.
Using the same legislation, if an employee texts their boss while on holiday, I presume they could be legally be fired too..
The current UK government are an embarrassment.
The government needs to get down on 0 hours contracts and better salaries, so you dont need to top up with Universal Credit.
Specially 0 hours contracts is crazy.
Dam right…..because I bet if you txtd your boss with a problem; as in pay or something, they would cop the right hump!
Слава Україні, брати і сестри💪💙💛
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉can’t wait!
There are workers in the UK?
My wife gets constant calls and messages from her boss. This will be great as long as your boss cannot put it in your contract that they can call.
