  1. Of course, they didn’t. Doing the *bare minimum* means they’ll have to do investigating. That’s *work*, which is for poor people, don’t you know (obvious /s)

These morons just want to yell their “alternative facts” to a soulless ghoul on fox instead of y’know working to make the country a better place.

  2. Why bother? The Republicans already knew all there was to know about this case. Both shooter and shootee were their guys …

  3. Why would the Democrats not take Trump’s assassination attempt seriously? /s

  4. >It’s unclear why some of the GOP members of the task force skipped the visit to Butler, PA.

Because they’re unserious assholes and they can’t come up with anything gaslight-y or projection-y enough.

  5. Because they know it was not an assassination attempt.

  6. They found out the shooter was a right-wing loon, and now suddenly they don’t care.

  7. Well sure, they already made up their minds it was a democratic plot to resurrect JFK to convince Hugo Chavez to pull the trigger or some other GOP nonsense.

  8. Did they go to Moscow instead?

They do that. Easy mistake to make, apparently.

  9. These Republicans don’t care what happens to Trump. A lot of people don’t care. I assume that’s how he got shot in the first place.

  10. Miraculous that he’d get grazed by an AR-15 bullet yet still have no damage to his ear just days after the event. Miraculous…

  11. >Five Democratic Party and three GOP representatives showed up on Monday to tour the site of the attempted assassination of Trump in Butler, PA.

    >Four Republicans on a task force looking into the Trump assassination attempt skipped a site visit.

    >The bipartisan group was formed to investigate potential failings on the day.

    >It’s unclear why some of the GOP members of the task force skipped the visit to Butler, PA.

  12. We investigated ourselves and found no problems

  13. I dare somebody to produce the injury photo of Trump’s poor little ear

  14. It wouldn’t be surprised if there was a second shooter with a pellet gun

  15. They are afraid of uncovering facts. And they are experts at avoiding that happening.

  16. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.businessinsider.com/republicans-fail-show-up-trump-assassination-attempt-site-visit-investigation-2024-8) reduced by 83%. (I’m a bot)

    > Four Republicans on the task force investigating the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump were no-shows for a site visit on Monday, according to The Washington Post. The bipartisan task force was set up by a unanimous House vote in late July, two weeks after a would-be assassin fired at Trump during an outdoor rally, grazing his ear.

    > The 12-strong task force consists of seven Republicans and five Democrats and has full House investigatory powers, including subpoena powers.

    > Just three GOP representatives were in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Monday for the group's first visit to the site of the shooting, the Post reported.

  17. It was a staged event.

The fat orange fucker takes all his cues from Putin and Vince McMahon.

There’s not a wrestling viewer out there that doesn’t know to cut certain areas of the head for massive blood flow, and minimal damage.

THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT PEOPLE. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

  18. Hey! That’s a lot of work. Cut them a break. They were probably tired. Do you have any idea how hard these politicians have to work for their money and benefits

  19. They are scared. They have to know what they are supposed to find before they look. That is monarchy 101.

No one cares about facts in Trump world they only care about what he wants and what they can get away with.

  20. alleged assassinations attempt. Trump has a verifiable history of staging events. so one cannot assume anything with him involved at face value.

  21. I mean, they’d have to do their jobs.

    Which they don’t like doing.

I pray one day that the nation realizes Republicans for who they are, elect Democrats in a wave similar to FDR and allow this nation to progress and catch up to the rest of the world. We. Can. Do. It.

  22. Hmm,

What do they know that they don’t want us to know they know?

  23. Can we run campaign ads in their district? If they are in a right district the ad could read, “Your (former) president was shot and congressman ______ didn’t care enough to show up to investigate. Is he part of the deep state?”

  24. Imagine getting paid $175k / year and you don’t have to do your job if you don’t feel like it, but still collect a paycheck.

  25. It’s all performative. They don’t give a shit about anyone including their own colleagues. Their concern is always staying in power. They do not give a shit about any of this. Currently, it’s of interest to them because it’s one of the many angles they’re muddying to try and keep the GOP in power.

  26. >Aside from **Rep. Mark Kelly**, the task force’s ranking member, the only other Republicans present were David Joyce (Ohio) and Laurel Lee (Fla).

I thought I was going crazy for a moment. I was like, wait just a Tom Cotton-picking minute, Mark Kelly is a goddamn senator. Also, *not a republican*!

I thought I hopped timelines, had a stroke, or really needed to start paying better attention. It turns out it was just a typo, and they were referring to Mike Kelly.

  27. Convenient they skip the visit, so they can later make claims not based on anything they actually saw, and just spout off what they want to say.

  28. I get it. Who even cares anymore, the world has moved on

  29. Of course, they didn’t show up because they’re not interested in finding out what actually happened.

The only thing they’re interested in is trying to find a way to pin the blame on the democrats.

  30. My leg got a bruise from my bicycle falling on it that very same weekend
(you may look up my posts) .
The bruise is almost totally gone now .
    Donald’s -shot-off-ear- miraculusly healed after 1.5 weeks .

Oh , and where are my shoes ? said Donald before exiting the stage
    after getting shot at .

  31. Everybody that knows him doesn’t care about him at all cause he fucking sucks

  32. ok i’m not a conspiracy theorist. A guy literally died. But everything about this assassination attempt was weird

  33. If they investigate they know they’ll have to acknowledge that the shooter was also a Republican.

  34. Nothing has shocked me more than how quickly a presidential assassination attempt just left the news cycle.

  35. If he truly wasn’t influenced by powerful interests, why did the story disappear so fast? The silence itself raises questions about who controls the narrative and what they want to keep hidden

  36. It’s remarkable how quickly everybody got to the point of not caring about the attempt.

  37. Anybody else find it odd that representatives are in charge of a shooting investigation?

“Yup, you could probably shoot from there. Lunchtime, fellas?”

Am I missing something, or is this an odd requirement of the job?
