I didn’t read the article I just saw the pic and thought that was Beatrice and went “welp that picture is sure a choice” lol
Eta: ok read the article and there’s not a lot of transparency there I hope they’re paying those women actual fair wages
Why did they choose a photo with the white women on a bench and the Rwandan woman on the ground. lol wtf
That photo was a choice. Not a great look.
I am all about investing in women owned brands though, I just want the people who are doing the actual labor to be getting the most money from the product.
I’m sure the Daily Mail is about to be sent Caroline Graham to Rwanda to properly investigate and ensure that the Rwandan women who weave the bags aren’t being exploited since we know the Mail is against exploitation of any form 😉
Good. Creating good jobs in impoverished areas is much better for those communities than donating funds to charities.
That photo is a bad look. I hope the women in Rwanda are making fair wages.
