Zdravo, I’m new to driving in Slovenia and have been using Google maps to navigate. I understand the speed limit is 50km/h in villages & 90km/h on most regional roads.
I received a speed camera notification in Log Pod Mangartom on my way to Bovec & another in Žaga on my way to Bohinj but I couldn’t see them on the roadside. I couldn’t even locate them on Google Street View. I seen camera on the motorway when leaving Ljubljana but have not seen one since. Are they hidden in rural areas?
Hvala

Might have been something like this

The one in Log pod Mangartom is partially obscured by trees opposite the cemetery and is facing Bovec. It was installed fairly recently which is why you don’t see it on Street View.
Question for those more knowledgeable – since it is facing Bovec, would it detect OP if he was speeding since he was driving away from it? I know radar can do that, but do these cameras detect both incoming and outgoing traffic?
Any permeant speed cameras that can issue fines are required to have a sign way before it “meritev hitrosti”
There are also some signs that show you your speed and flash at you but they don’t fine you. But the police can also setup a camera on a tripod, in a car or just manual use it and not need any signs, usually in populated ares tho, not in the middle of nowhere.
If you aren’t sure, better just go the speed limit and have the peace of mind
Drove there 5 days ago, serpentines were fun
