  5. The fact that “Friedl” isn’t spelled as all capital (Army standard is to spell surnames and place names all capital) makes me think that it’s probably someone’s first name, and “Friedl” is indeed a short form for “Friedrich”.

    No idea about the “FB 36”, though. That does not look like an organizational unit that is familiar to me.
