France, Serbia Sign Rafale Fighter Jet Deal

7. Okay, some people seem unaware of how those contracts work:

   1) one simply doesn’t sell their latest techs. Especially to tiny markets like Serbia.

   2) To finance the latest techs, you need to sell the previous ones.

   3) unless the Russian services somehow became totally retarded, they already know about the previous tech. They aren’t desperately relying on Serbia for that (no offense to Serbia).

   4) Serbia buying Western European weapons is a very good sign. Buying a jet plane isn’t like buying a baguette: it means welcoming instructors and technicians going with the jet plane. For years and years. Full cooperation.

   5) and so I ask the very polite German whose comment got removed 5 minutes ago: would you by any chance prefer to see a horde of Russian or Chinese technicians, instructors, and inevitable spies going with them comfortably housed 1000km away from your borders, and inside the EU area? In a country now hooked to their techs and way of doing things?

   Don’t act like narrow-minded Donald Trumps. Either we mean to help Serbia, and ultimately have Serbia on our side someday; either we build a wall around Serbia like if they were some kind of pariahs, but then don’t look astonished the day tiny isolated Serbia becomes a pain in the chocolat as a result.

11. I remember the time when Croatia announced its purchase of Rafales and the Serb internet brigade started mass spamming about how their Mig-29s are superior and that the Rafale is a trashcan.

    I wonder what opinion of this very same Rafale they have right now.
