  1. 1) If price gouging is real why didn’t it happen during the Trump term?

    2) If price gouging caused inflation, how do you explain this

    3) Unless and until Kamala Harris puts out a policy paper and explains what she means by ““first-ever federal ban” on price gouging for food and groceries.” she will have to accept the criticism of advocating for “price controls”

  2. Price gouging and capitalism are the same thing. Maximizing ROI… is price gouging.

  3. Why would anyone oppose price limits on essentials? Like the minimum wage is $x, the essential food items shouldn’t be priced more than $y so people can survive. Everything else can be priced however the “free market” wants. It’s capitalism but with a soul

  4. Given that major corporations charge the cheapest & local grocers charge more, who will be fined? You can argue maybe we have an anti trust issue, but what’s this going to do? Who will determine a large corporation is gouging while smaller businesses charge more?

  5. “It’s clear, however, that food manufacturers and retailers got away with screwing us badly over the past few years. The New York Times reported earlier this year that a lot of companies have been “testing the limits” of how much they could charge consumers, and found there were fewer than they once thought”

This guy thinks he’s picking a fight with the Keebler Elves.  Costs for living went up for food production workers over the past few years too.  They aren’t actually living and working for free in a magical treehouse.
