Average Opponents’ UEFA Coefficient

  1. I’ve sorted all UCL clubs by the average UEFA coefficient of their opponents. While this method isn’t perfect—I personally rate Arsenal much higher than their coefficient—it does provide an objective way to identify the teams that got lucky and those that didn’t.

What surprises me the most is that being in Pot 1 no longer seems to offer much protection compared to being in Pot 4. PSG, for example, has once again been very unlucky, while several Pot 4 teams appear to be among the luckiest. PSG likely suffers from being the only top team in France, meaning they don’t benefit from the protection that comes from not facing too many top teams from the same country.

  2. Now that neymar messi and mbappe is gone it would be funny if somehow PSG wins the UCL this year 😂

  3. yall have the ability to beat any other team in the world and yet yall r complaining. lol, take a look at sparta prague

  4. I am actually not that worried – we either are good enough or we are not. I want the team to compete with the very best no matter the stage of the competition and it shouldnt be a problem to play Ligue1 at the same time – we can at least give time to our titis. So… yeah it is a tough draw but if we can avoid injuries I am hyped to show the new PSG to Europe.

  5. Great job OP, thanks.

It will be really interesting to keep this data, and to compare it with the actual ranking when all the games will be played at the end of january. To see if there is a real correlation between what is expected and what really happened.

Maybe keep the colour ranking to be more visual ? We’ll see if the “green teams” will be on top.
