Everybody’s least favourite bit of former Yugoslavia. The Florida of the Balkans, if you will.
15.02. is Serbian statehood day for 2 reasons:
1. On that day, representatives of the Serbian people gathered in 1804 and decided to rise up in arms against the Ottoman rule, effectively starting the Serbian revolution
2. On that same date, in the year 1835, the Sretenje Constitution sees the light of day. It marks the end of the Serbian revolution, and it was the first modern Serbian constitution.
Interesting articles of the Sretenje Constitution:
117. Each Serb has the right to choose their way of life according to their own will, as long as it doesn’t harm others.
118. When a slave sets foot on Serbian soil, at that exact moment he becomes free, and it doesn’t matter whether he was brought to Serbia by someone, or he came alone.
and many, many more…
Someone wished an early birthday
Looks a lot like Russia flag, comrades. Invasion inbound.
