De Ligt wins for most overrated player! Now who’s the best Juventus player of all time? (and why is it Del Piero?)

  1. Del Piero and there’s not even a contest. He is Juve and Juve is him.

  2. If you watched Del Piero before his injury, you’d never put anyone even near him at Juve.

  3. Del Piero over Platini.

More seasons, more goals, more trophies. The question is best overall for Juve, not best overall for football history.

  4. There is a few, I cannot decide who is the best. Del Piero is a good choice.

  5. Del piero or buffon, can’t go wrong with those 2 legends.

  6. Platini. Anyone else is recency bias. Sorry not sorry.

  7. We should ask the Bernabeu … rumour has it they’re still giving ADP that standing ovation from November 2008.

  8. Del Piero is the literal reason I became a fan in the 90s. And to me he embodies what a true Juventus player should look, act and play like. We won’t see players like him again for a long time- maybe never again. I don’t see how anyone else deserves this.

  9. My imediate answer is Del Piero, but I think Baggio, Zidane, Buffon and Chiellini are also strong contenders.

  10. Del Piero is one of the rare cases I know of a player receiving a standing ovation at both Santiago Bernabéu AND Old Trafford. I think that says it all about how big of a player Pinturicchio was.

  11. Del Piero and Buffon both derserve it.
Buffon missed out on a potential Ballon d’or to stay with us in 2006.

  12. I know he will never be considered, but Pippo is what got me into Juve over 25 years ago. Actual vote goes to Buffon for his longevity, service, quality, and charm.

  13. Best in terms of peak performance? Or sustained excellence.

I think Platini has an argument if it’s peak short term performance. Though Buffon and Del Piero are my favourite players of all time
