We can only hope that Mongolia shocks the world and actually complies with this. Would love to see it happen, but realistically no chance. I’m surprised he even has the courage to leave his own bunker, let alone the country.
Forgive my ignorance, but has it ever been confirmed that Putin uses body doubles? If true, isn’t it more likely one of them will be going instead.

That’s like listening to your parents if they told you to punch your 2 big brothers in the nuts. You have to sleep knowing they live in the room next to you and mom and dad will do nothing to protect you.

Mongolia doesnt have the strength to withstand the consequences of capturing putin. It would be nice but ill never blame a country for doing what is best for themselves and not getting involved

Yes, a country with 3.5 million people is going to arrest their big, bad neighbor. That would be suicide.
Does anybody believe that Russia would send the real Putin? There’s probably a handful of disposable Vlads on call for jobs like this.
Its like trying to convince a toddler to pick a fight with a ex navy seal bouncer…its fun but it doesnt end well.
Anyway putin is there to grovel for some pipelines…he has to personally drag his old bony ass to a country of 3 mil to beg them to let him build that pipeline…behold the russian super power.
This court is a joke anyway. Since US basically said if they’re not going to cease investigation against US citizens war crimes in Afghanistan and if they arrest and prosecute US citizents who commited said crimes they will invade Hague.
Same reaction for Israel war crimes.
It’s pretty hypocritical and obvious that war crimes are considered war crimes when not US or allies commit them otherwise no matter how disgusting nothing happens even economical sanctions.
It will not surprise me if hypocrites from US and EU will use economical sanctions against Mongolia after they refuse to arrest Putin.

This unacceptably irritating statement is going to require a special military action in response.
They would be arresting a doppelganger.
Or what? Serious question, what are even the consequences of disobeying international law any more? Sanctions and a strongly worded letter?
Before someone laugh that off, remember: Putin already had to cancel multiple state visits due that.
The thing is: democratic nations has institutions that don’t answer to the leader like in a dictatorship, but to approved rule sets.
So, as crazy as that sounds, three things will unravel:
– He will shame the host if most of the institutions absolutely don’t want him there, spoiling any good will between the nations. It could be seen as a display of power. He will not be arrested, but political instability will follow whoever invited him.
– He may actually get arrested, and things will get suddenly serious.
– Mongolia approves something to grant immunity to Putin, and burn a lot of diplomatic capital with Western nations.
The default maneuver in these cases is for the guest to politely refuse the invitation, being grateful for the invite, so to spare the pain for the host.
In a fantasy world where people and countries are actually held accountable, what punishment could Mongolia face for not arresting him?
