Damn. If this is because of the potential Friendly Fire loss of an F-16 then it *might* be an overreaction. But there probably was/is other stuff as well.
That Ukraine still has a working aviation to this day is probably a sign of a job mostly done well by Oleshchuk.
Good luck whoever follows him.
Whilst not giving any concrete proof to that friendly fire AA theory on downed F-16 ; it’s still more than likely connected to that (the timing is too close , for it not to be related) .
Now it depends whether it was a “straw that broke camel’s back” , or an emotional decision after such loss . I guess , we’ll wait and see .
It’s difficult and saddening to lose a friend, son, brother, husband, father. It’s difficult to lose a pilot also. Pilots take quite some time to train. I know I’m a Commercial Pilot. F-16 can be replaced.
I would imagine that the night when this happened there were many surface to air weapons being fired in defense of Ukraine. Let’s hope it’s not a friendly fire incident. It’s very possible and was my first thought.
Zelenskyy has his hands full, dealing with the Terrorist invasion, tons of corruptions, many more he has to deal with. But he is not hesitant to execute solution to win this war. Slava Ukraini.
Such very bad luck losing the F-16 and an ace pilot most of all.
Poor guy. Been there since 2021, and did not really have an air force.
BUT!!! He could be part of the old moscovian core group that believes in moscovian doctrine.
This is kind of a damning statement
“**(I thank) everyone who is really fighting for Ukraine** — for the result. And it is also necessary at the command level. We must strengthen ourselves. And we must take care of people. Take care of the personnel. Take care of all our soldiers,”
Since he was given F16s, he might be out of his league.
It must be hard to fly there because there are so many drones a missiles around. I think they need to be super careful and not use the F16s very much. Just my opinion
