Surprised to hear him say lots of people think he’s anti British.
In terms of on this island he could only talking about the fine gael/fianna fail milieu, maybe the DUP aswell, because *anyone* outside those bubbles would consider him *very* pro Britain.
Interesting because it shows how within those circles even a perceived fraction of a sentiment of distaste towards Britain can label a person as Anti-British.
Sinn fein must seem like a bunch of Brit bashing barbarians to them, and if the majority of the general public in Ireland are more aligned with that republican sentiment, maybe more the Michael D Higgins brand, then to what extent are the big two and the public on the same page?
