Arthur Melo.
Jean-Alain Boumsong or Eljero Elia
Jorge Andrade in terms of shit signings, but probably Elia in more recent eras.
Marcelo Salas – he was not impressive after his big move from Lazio. He also blocked the transfer of a very young Cristiano Ronaldo, who instead went to United.
Jorge Martinez was so damn bad
Nicklas Bendtner
Bendtner was pretty terrible.
Aaron Ramsey
Tiago Mendes.
For those who don’t remember, not only he was shit, but this is how he left (from Wikipedia):
“The negotiations had a violent end when he forcibly locked Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli inside a toilet stall – the chairman was finally rescued by captain Alessandro Del Piero, more than an hour later.”
Ramsey for sure
Dario Bonetti
I would go for the other Melo…Felipe Melo!!
Poulsen.
Arthur Melo did show some flashes, Salas was broken – same with Andrade, but I’d blinded my eyes if I have to watch Boumsong again.
And that list is god damn long too after Boumsong – Mellberg, De Ceglie, and (sorry) Palladino. I think we even used to call him Princess Palladino for a reason
Marco Motta.
If you were around for the Del Neri year you know how useless he truly was.
Juan Esnaider
Lucio ?
Anelka ?
A good sign is when your mind automatically erased them from memory because they were so bad.
Arthur for me
Cristian Molinaro or Tiago
Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Viana Lima, aka Hernanes
Felipe Melo
Wow! I see no-one mentions or maybe some are too young to remember the one and only, Eljero Elia!
Came to Juve in 2011 as the team’s future superstar during the rebuilding phase under Antonio Conte!
I remember fans, journalists etc were ecstatic about him joining. Long story short, he had a total of 5 appearances in black and white, no goals (apart from a banger in a friendly game), and was very injury prone.
We paid around €9m to get him from Hamburg so maybe the price wasn’t too high to classify him as the worst signing but the expectations when he joined were high asf for the failed outcome.
Ramsey
Arthur 100% just because of the amount spent. There were Jorge Martinezes and Tiagos and Ramseys and Amauris and Poulsens and others, but Arthur’s size of scam is unmatched
Wow y’all have short term memories! Jorge Martinez EASILY wins this category.
Esnaider
Athirson
Simply Diego
Mauricio Isla. I dare you to find a single game where he played well.
