I wasn’t sure if those were rats or crocodiles at first glance.
Budgets are being slashed, and people want tax cuts even now.
Ah but THEIR tax cuts are always justified.
It’s always EVERYONE else’s tax cuts that are wrong.
🥸🥸🥸
But why can’t we just have tax cuts, free money, excellent public services, subsidies, free housing, free Internet, free electricity, free transport and a world class NHS?
Just, like, y’know. Tax Starbucks, yeah?
Why should I pay for all those other idle wretches? /s
That is what Glasgow looks like with high taxes.
It’s the premise of taxing middle earners more. I’m all for taxing the rich but someone earning 43k and living alone is paying extra tax while only getting a 25% discount on council tax- society is designed to punish single people who do a little better than average.
People don’t mind paying tax when it’s not wasted.
The £1.8m Yousaf used to buy mobile phones that prisoners used to commit 8,000 crimes was a waste of tax payers money for example.
My issue is paying ever increasing tax rates, especially when they’re so much higher than England and seeing very little in return for it.
If it’s spent on Policing, NHS, schools etc – fine.
When it’s wasted on pointless schemes it’s grating.
And before anyone chips in with “WHAT ABOUT THE TORIES!” because people on here assume any criticism of the SNP is an endorsement of the conservatives – yes they’re fucking useless too.
This is too optimistic. I volunteer in a food bank that operates out of a community centre and the windows are smashed, the fire exit is broken, the hot water doesn’t work, the ceiling leaks. The council refuses to provide funding to repair these issues and says we must do it ourselves through fundraisers getting funds from the community which is one of the most financially depraved communities in the country.
Good luck getting them to buy cupcakes for £2 a piece at a fundraiser when they can’t afford to feed themselves even after going to the food bank.
In this image the food bank has an intact window.
Taxation is theft!
The average voter could very much be forgiven for not connecting tax with public spending, or quality of service. Tory budgets very much did drain money and life from public service, but a very few seen benefits in the form of reduced tax.
And now Labour are prepping us for painful increases, but the top 10% of wealthiest individuals in the UK own nearly a half of all wealth. Let’s see who feels the pain in October, but I’m slightly skeptical that it will be the upper middle, and upper classes.
How is earning £43,663 considered higher tax bracket is beyond me. I’m all for taxes but I rather my money not go wars in Ukraine, Isreal or what ever proxy war NATO / US is funding for these days. If the UK keeps its dick out of foreign nations issues they wouldn’t be considered a threat. We need to focus on our own nation’s infrastructure, healthcare and debt.
I would be massively surprised if the picture would look much different with higher taxes.
Tax the rich more
The finger thing means the taxes
Tories and SNP are both sinister POS. They’re both despicable, the worst of a bad bunch.
I have no trust or faith in politicians, and British politics is riddled with corruption and we have to live under their control and trust in their abilities to look out for our best interests, well the SNP haven’t a bloody clue and they’ve made the standard of living for the vast majority of our population worse than it’s ever been and this was happening pre covid because they wasted billions and billions of pounds on crazy crap projects.
Well now we have Scottish Labour so basically all we can do is pray and hope that they’ll somehow be able to help the massive amount of people in Scotland that are suffering.
Britain is a shitehole, but Scotland is the shitehole that we live in.
Honestly, it feels like a mental workout sometimes.
