So rough sleeping is legal in Scotland, but is setting up a tent to the side of the front of a police station legal? Because this is just too easy as it is, I don’t even feel like paying rent and getting an apartment.

The context is that I couldn’t find a flat in time for the end of my student accommodation contract, and I didn’t want to pay 120 pounds for a stay at a hotel.
So I decided to spend the night in front of a police station with my luggage. Not sleeping, can’t risk anyone carrying my stuff away.
But this is ridiculously comfy. If I could put my stuff in a secure place, being deliberately homeless in front of a hospital or police station really doesn’t seem so bad. I can charge my stuff in my uni buildings.
You say that when it’s a warm, dry night in August…
Scotland’s a developed country, contact a homeless shelter and they’ll get you sorted. If not the police might do it for you if you keep hanging around.
This’ll get you put in some emergency housing, then temp housing and potentially a council flat if you don’t get something sorted by then.
I’ve had to use them in the past and it’s one of the reasons we don’t really have a on the street homeless issue that other places seem to have.
I don’t think it’s illegal, but if you’re in their way they can have you moved.
