  1. Is it strange that my first thought was “Why would the Kansas City Royals honor Gary Oldman?” Yes I’m an American.

  2. The article is unclear about what triggered his comment – but it sounds like someone just asked him a question about it and he said “I don’t know, you’d have to ask them.”

  3. It seems the sentiment (not Oldman’s, but someone’s) is that every successful British actor deserves an OBE or some other sort of recognition?

  4. “In a wide-ranging interview with the BBC, the Harry Potter and Slow Horses star expressed at being completely overlooked by the honours system.”

Seems like they asked him why he hasn’t been and he very courteously said not sure, maybe its in my future (not the direct quote).

So not only is the editor asleep at the wheel on proofing the article- but they slapped an inflammatory headline on it.

  5. Didn’t he have a SA scandal during Me Too? That might be a reason.

  6. The Kansas City baseball team has an opportunity to do a very funny thing here

  7. We should all just start calling him Ser Gary of Oldman. Fuck the royals, this dude has given us all great performances over the years. Maybe eve cheered us up when we were down. Hes definitely made me laugh when I needed it.

    Arise, Ser Gary of Oldman.

  8. It’s because when Charles goes to hand the honour to Gary Oldman he will stop and realise that *he has been played by Gary Oldman all along*.

  9. I’m just waiting for them to knight George Lazenby already

  10. So sick of any neutral response being labelled as calling out, throwing shade, or any variation of being angry. Clickbait has gotten so widespread. It’s to the point where I even see it used for serious news headlines, by supposedly legitimate news agencies.

  11. I did not realize Gary Oldman had such strong connections to Kansas City.

  12. He didn’t call it out. Interviewer asked him a direct question.
