Finland’s retirement age creeping up

  1. Do notice the people who are deciding for you increase their salaries and juicy benefits at your dime doesn’t matter how economy is doing. They and their kids are all set.

  2. > This shift can be largely explained by a significant drop in the number of new retirees on disability pensions and pension system reforms rolled out in 2017.

Pretty much explains the most recent jump imo.

The retirement age is rising, sure, but I don’t really see how it’s “creeping” up, implying it does it secretely or something. The retirement age does go up, the later you are born, but that is very much public knowledge. You can even calculate your earliest retirement age [here](https://www.tyoelake.fi/teemat/mita-vuoden-2017-elakeuudistus-tarkoittaa/#:~:text=Vuonna%202017%20tuli%20voimaan%20el%C3%A4keuudistus,lain%20voimaantulon%20j%C3%A4lkeen%20kertyvi%C3%A4%20el%C3%A4kkeit%C3%A4.)

  3. Retirement? We won’t get that.. That’s why I’m saving from now and investing on stock market. Don’t wait for government to get your money, you will get fucked, remember Finland aging quickly and at some point the system will collapse.
