Hit gangland drama Kin confirmed for a second series

  1. I got half way through and got bored of it. Eventually got even more bored so went back and finished it.

It’s grand. Story could have been told in fewer episodes but overall it’s fine. It’s better than the first season of Love Hate, it’s not as good as some of the latter seasons.

  2. Kin was shite. If DVDs were still relevant it’s the kind of series my aunt, who never learned what my interests are, would get me the boxset of.

  3. Everything about this show is terrible… the boring story, the over the top Dub acting and cinematography is just distracting

  4. One of the more boring slogs I put myself through and I wouldn’t have made it past episode 3 if it wasn’t Irish. Boring, no drama and I had no idea at any time what any of the characters were thinking or feeling.

They rob €50m worth of drugs from a bigger drug dealer and decide to stay in the same house where everyone knows where they live and decide when they have a truck load of drugs that it would be a good time to get out of the drug business.

I’ve no interest in watching season 2.

  5. Looked good at first. Was a heaping pile of shite in the end. Spoilers below.

    >!First off, they’re a family of drug dealers but come across as the most upper class people youd meet in Dublin. The only family member who seemed believable as a drug dealer or gang figure was the lads dad in prison, and he only had a 5 minute cameo. Other problem I have is with the ending. Yer wan meets with Eamon to strike a deal and give over a family member to call off the feud, only for him to get clipped the second he stepped off the plane? Why bother with the deal at all?!<

I doubt it will be any better than the first season.

Some of the camera angles were also questionable. One user said here “next week we’ll watch an entire scene unfold from the viewpoint of Aiden Gillens armpit”

  6. Spoilers

The biggest issue with it is you could tell from early on that they planned on killing off the two biggest actors in it by the end so they wouldn’t have to pay them for a second season . They pretty much used them to advertise it

  7. Genuinely can’t believe this got a second series. It’s on AMC so maybe it was popular overseas but I don’t know a single Irish person who liked this show. My favorite part was jumping onto Twitter when an episode was over to see the funny shit people were tweeting about it.

  8. We have a well identified problem with younger scrotes thinking they are gangsters. This and love hate only publicize it and legitimize it to an extent. Both are absolutely rubbish. Shouldn’t have to pay a tv license for this shit

  9. Honestly I’m sick to death of the whole gritty Dublin gangland crime thriller phenomenon that seems to infest a lot of Irish film and TV. As a filmmaker myself I’d love to see funding bodies and producers have a little more imagination with regards to which projects get made. Like what’s wrong with more horror, sci fi, comedy etc? I’m tired of crime and depressing domestic dramas 🤣

And before anyone points it out, yes, I’m well aware of “if you don’t like it, don’t watch it” but I simply felt like venting. To each their own!

  10. I thought it was going to be the next Love / Hate but instead it was the most ball achingly boring piece of drivel I’ve ever watched.

  11. Absolutely shite.

Even if it wasn’t so dark and you could see what’s going on, its clearly shite.
