What do people work in northern towns? Because housing is cheaper relative to wages. I used to know a guy that lived in Stoke on a low wage job, and liked Porsches. He lived in a 2 bed terrace, and owned a Porsche.

Everyone should have a bare minimum standard of living nationwide (if you know, you are a poor), and once you have a luxury of any sort, the government should be able to reduce your wages to protect the profits for businesses.
