Street lights to be home to 5G antennas as part of new scheme

  1. Sounds good, imagine all the people Bill Gates will have to employ to refill the Covid in the lampposts now

  2. Maybe there will finally be decent phone signal in the UK if they actually do this.

For being a ‘developed’ country – the UK has terrible phone coverage. It’s ridiculous (and actually a safety issue) that you don’t get a reliable signal everywhere (even on a variety of networks).

My grandmothers house our phones barely work – maybe if you go to the top floor in one room you can send/receive texts or calls. And so many other places (very close to towns/villages) signal just cuts out completely.

In comparison I’ve been island hopping in the Philippines – an hour away from mainland, and still get service just fine…

  3. Street lights will be electric car charging points too. They seem to be becoming a one stop shop for community infrastructure. What else can be rolled into them?

  4. Fuck sake, this is going to cause me to become a sociopath. Sturgeon must resign. She’s in cahoots with china

  5. Bring it on, I live in a stone building in the middle of a street so it’s blocked on all sides from the 5G Antenna at the other end of the road.

Not entirely sure who thought it was a good idea to place a 5G Antenna at the other end of the residential area, precisely where no one will ever be able to use it.
