Hi nice redditors of Germany
I have worked from January to mid-April of 2021 and then I have left Germany permanently to return to my home country (India). I have been working since then in India. I want to file tax returns for 2021 and I am planning to use one of those third-party websites like [taxfix.de](https://taxfix.de), [steurgo.de](https://steurgo.de), [wundertax.de](https://wundertax.de) for this purpose. But there is a problem!
The banks in India do not have a IBAN at all. We use SWIFT code here for international transactions.
But all these tools have a compulsory field for entering IBAN. I am caught in a fix here, can someone please help me out?

Use the official ELSTER software instead of a third party, they allow any type of input.
SWIFT code (the BIC, I presume) just identifies the bank. Don’t you also need a bank account number (the IBAN) to identify the bank account within the bank?
