Why wasn't this organised to reopen during the Olympics, or during the ending ceremony – how spectacular would that have been? But apparently they can't manage that.

I have seen Notre Dame many times and thought it dark and gloomy so cannot wait to see it in gleaming white limestone. It will be a shock but a beautiful one. Boston,USA
