Germany doesn’t have enough lifeguards. This Berlin lido started to offer the job to new arrivals. A win-win situation, as access to the job market is shown to strengthen integration.

  2. To think she might save someone's life in the water here – after she and her loved ones faced the possibility of drowning just to get here – is humbling. What an impressive young woman.

  5. Those that don't have a right to stay should be deported as close to immediate as possible. But all others, like this young woman, should be offered a chance to as quickly become a member of society – for their benefit AND Germany's!
