It’s kind inevitabel that chips get into Russian weapons. They are cheap to get. The purpose of sanctions is not as much to prevent it as to make it more expensive.
Probably some group of dudes who thought “ hey let’s buy stuff and sell it to Russia “ anyone could do this . Even me if I really wanted to . Just takes a few greedy traitors to accomplish this
Criminals don’t give shit to whoever they sell stuff on the black market, money is money and I’m guessing Russia is paying them well.
One could image intelligence services setting up a shop (or more) to provide Russia, gain a firm chunk of the market through reliability and price, and when established begin providing carefully sabotaged chips.
If Russian missiles have a 90% hit rate barring air defenses, making that 70% would be a considerable improvement, no? And all it would take is to sabotage one chip out of three. Move methods and target chips before they realize what is happening, repeat.
Didn’t the Shaheds begin increasing their failure rate? One can hope…
