  1. It’s time to invalidate the church indemnity deal and seek redress. 2,400 allegations of abuse…. 2,400!

  2. Your complaint will go in a file, in a filing cyabinet.

  3. Using a burner account.

I currently work as a clinician in a mental health hospital. ~70% of my work is providing therapy and advice to adults who have suffered physical/ sexual/ emotional abuse in their childhood. I make regular reports to Tusla regarding this and occasionally link in with Gardai.

The vast majority of people I work with do not wish to make a report to the Gardai- which I completely understand. I just wanted to say that you can make a statement to Gardai at any time- even if the perpetrator is deceased. Making a statement doesn’t mean that you are initiating any legal proceedings, but it may help other victims.

I would also encourage any adults who are victims of childhood abuse to contact the National Counselling Service- who provide several free therapy sessions which focus on trauma. They are very good and have had many clients attend their service.

  4. And imagine we still entrust the vast majority of our education systems to these organisations. It’s a bit Irish isn’t it

  5. Not so much sexually abused but emotionally abused by a teacher in 5th class. She would constantly call me a “waste of space” and deliberately have me answer questions she knew i couldn’t just to embarrass me.
    I hope she’s dead now

  6. How about physical abuse? I was at a Christian Brothers school and had both my eardrums perforated by being slapped hard, once by a lay teacher and once by the head brother. The Royal Eye & Ear Hospital probably have the records.
