This is such a ridiculous non-issue. Croatian “Kuna” is already tied to the Euro. So effectively Croatia is using the Euro except we call it “Kuna”. That’s essentially that.
These “Suverenisti” are like Brexiters in Britain. Having an orgazam every time someone says Hrvatska (Croatia). Luckily they are by far a minority and most of Croatians want to get along with our neighbors instead of stoking new wars. And we want to be a part of something bigger like our European family.
This is basically non-news. They have 2 seats out of 151 in the Croatian Sabor(Parliament), most of Croatia is for this and we expected this when we joined the EU in the first place.
These idiots are irrelevant and are trying to make a show of this to get new voters… fuck them.
Bulgaria aims to join at the same time as Croatia. I think that if Bulgaria had a referendum the Euro would lose. People everywhere have no idea about monetary policy, I myself understand fairly little and I’m more informed then anybody I know. So in the absence of knowledge we’d choose conservatism.
The last countries that joined are fine, I think we will be fine as well.
