Shocking moment fire rips through high-rise block in London as over 100 evacuated

This is the moment a huge fire ripped through a high-rise block in London with over 100 evacuated from their flats.

Forty fire engines and around 225 firefighters are battling a blaze at a block of flats on Freshwater Road in Dagenham, East London.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was called at 2.44am on Monday with crews from Dagenham, Ilford, Romford, Barking and surrounding fire stations at the scene.

The brigade said parts of the scaffolding surrounding the building, as well as the ground floor and the roof, were alight.

Two people have been taken to hospital.

  17. Lessons learned by grenfell tower disaster probably has helped to contain a other disaster new technology by the fire brigade also upgrades to fire doors and fire stopping inside buildings might have help stop the spread of fire so quick

  26. What is that eight, ten floors and the ladder hose can reach higher than the roof? This isn't a 3:46 high rise fire. Hell the fire at burning man in Nevada every year is taller than this! 😆

  30. I keep hearing references to Grenfel. I'm in the US and I've seen a few highrise buildings with very aggressive fires. It does, in fact appear that building codes are not adequate and nobody wants to change it. Sometimes you have to put your foot down, no matter the battle that lies ahead. These buildings would not pass inspection here in the states. However, it might suddenly collapse if it's on soft ground and in Florida.
